Mother Nature’s GMO

This morning in my email mailbox I had a newsletter from Kaitlyn Keyt, who communicates with nature spirits to create high vibrational products. Her website is: http://vibesup.com/

In today’s newsletter she wrote about programming plant seeds with your saliva to grow  produce designed for your best health. Quite a wild concept, isn’t it? I bet you want to try it? I do.

Naturally, I felt the urge to write a little poem:

Mother Nature’s GMO

she said spit on seeds
I thought of almonds
coated with candy

lay them on earth, catch
sun rays, burn your code
back into the womb

The Wisdom of Trees: A Guided Meditation

This meditation came to me in 2012, but I am updating it and expanding upon it, as it lacked fluidity and needed some expansion.

Find a comfortable place to sit with your bare feet touching the ground (or floor). Point your toes slightly inward so that the key energy points in your feet are connecting to the Earth. If it is more comfortable for you to lie down, that is also fine. It is your intentional connection to the Earth energy that matters most.

Play soft music if you wish and light a candle on a safe surface in front of you, encircling it with symbols that have a meaningful connection to Earth for you, such as animal totem figurines, crystals, stones, leaves, flowers or feathers.

If you choose to, place meditation crystals or stones you feel a connection to at this moment, in your palms. While you meditate you may feel like bringing these crystals together along with your palms, so that one hand loosely cups the top of your other hand, completing a circle of energy.

Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths, pulling the red energy of the Earth up through your body, through the soles of your feet, up through the base of our spine and into all the cells of your body, grounding and connecting you with the sacred energy of Earth. While you are taking these grounding breaths, call in your spirit guides, animal guides, guardian angels, the fairies and other energies of light. Ask them to work with you in your highest good to heal a place of dis-ease in your body, or an emotion you are struggling to release. Or, simply ask for general guidance and healing, and for these sacred energies to help guide you along your life’s path.

Imagine a golden or white translucent cloak of energy surrounding you in protection, knowing that your body is safe while your spirit takes this journey.

You now find yourself in a forest glen surrounded by a small circle of trees. Fairies dance among the delicate star-like flowers at your feet and fly through the green leaves of the trees surrounding you. Your animal and spirit guides have entered the glen with you, along with the angels and beings of light you have called in. You are surrounded and supported by their love. You are completely safe.

As you continue to breathe deeply and evenly, you find your feet becoming like the roots of trees, and you send these roots deep into the Earth, until you reach the crystalline center. You are now powerfully grounded into the Earth, strong and stable. Nothing can topple you. Gaia, the great Earth Mother, is sharing her energy with you, and your hearts beat as one. Allow your body and soul to welcome her healing love, knowing that the energy you share with her is also shared with all living beings on the planet.  Take a moment to offer your love and gratitude to Gaia and all life on this beautiful planet you call home.

Begin now to send this wonderful life force energy up through your body, knowing that as you do, it is filled with the red and green energies of the Earth, which stabilize and heal. Send this energy to all cells within your body, allowing them to fill with vitality and health.

The trunk of your body, your torso, is like the trunk of a tree, stable and strong. Feel the strength of your spinal column aligned in perfect health. Breathe in this knowing.

Now feel the energy expand through your upper torso and into your head. Your arms have become like the branches of a tree, and you may wish to raise them to the sky, or simply imagine that they are connecting you with the Divine life force energy of the Universe. Allow the green leaves of new life to unfurl from your palms, and into all cells of your body, knowing that you are not only healing your physical and emotional body, but actively creating new life, replacing the old, worn patterns, with the light energy of Love that is sent from the Divine Source in the Universe.  Now you are joined with the energy of the Earth and the energy of Source.

Butterflies and birds begin to appear, attracted to the strength and bounty of your energy, which is like the tree. These wonderful beings of Earth and Sky know that you offer your light to share, and they, in exchange, can teach you. These wonderful beings know the secrets of living in joy and harmony, and the butterfly, in particular, understands the power of transformation. Take a moment to watch and listen.

As you unfurl leaves into a canopy, you are experiencing the energy of transformation. Allow this energy to enter your physical body and be absorbed. You may have an emotional release in the form of tears. Do not fight the release, knowing that tears are the body’s way of cleansing trapped emotions.  Follow the healing, transformative energy into the pockets of pain inside your body. Imagine each pocket holds a seed and allow the seed to germinate and blossom as the denser energy is transformed to light.

As you experience the sensation of this energy healing, Eagle appears showing you that once you are grounded and whole, you can also experience the sensation of flight. Allow your spirit to soar with the powerful energy of Eagle in effortless freedom. This is the power of your own light body that you are experiencing, a part of you that is always in existence, connecting you to the Source energy of the Universe.

Spend some time playing and flying with Eagle and other winged beings who are here with you. Then, when you are ready, enter your body and feel the solid connection you have with Earth. Take 3 deep grounding breaths and feel your roots connected firmly to Earth. Slowly move your body, and before you go on with your day thank your animal guides, spirit guides, angels, fairies, Gaia and the Divine for being with you. Ask that their healing energy and love stay with you as you go about your day, gently guiding you along your true path of love and light.

Letting in the Light

Last week the heavy energy that had been accumulating in the form of humidity where I live, was released by a night of tremendous thunderstorms. Structures shook with the power of lightning, as the clouds and wind brought the rain back to the earth and lifted dense energy to light.

The next day I felt lighter, in fact I felt so light I knew I was not completely grounded to the Earth. That is the trade-off of too much light. It can leave us feeling as though we could easily drift into the heavens. Not by accident, it was a turtle that brought me back down to Earth. Turtle is the animal symbol of Mother Earth, and the teacher who shows us how to join Heaven and Earth inside of our bodies. There it was in front of me as I walked the path in the woods with my dogs. A small snapper stopped on its way. I couldn’t help but pause, knowing that there was a message in this unexpected creature, and as I did, the dogs too took notice. In a flash, the turtle jumped to meet the sniffing nose of Daisy, and as I watched my dog retract in pain, I followed the drip of her red blood as it met the Earth.

I was back on this plane.

We, as souls incarnated as humans, face the challenge of balancing the elements inside of our beings. Too much air and we lose our ground; too much earth and we feel heavy; too much fire and we feel rage; too much water and we are over-come with emotion.

Today, I asked my guides about light and realized as I transcribed their words that we each, individually, have the ability to bring light to our shadows and heal the wounds we accumulate through our lives and store within our cells. Not long ago I was convinced I needed someone else, a trained healer of energy, to heal my centers of pain. Perhaps I did need this catalyst, for soon after I started paying attention to moments when the intellect gives way to the soul. In my sleep and in my meditations, my body let in the energy of light, and healed the pain lurking in the shadows.

These were dramatic moments, like the sessions I had with the energy healer. There are though, I’ve come to realize, many ways to bring in the healing energy of light. Months ago, I started tuning into the energy of trees, and felt my body bounce each time I passed large pines and oaks while I walked through the forest. When we laugh we release heavy energy and let in the light. Sometimes the act is involuntary, like a sneeze, or a good cry.

This morning I did my tai chi forms outside, with my bare feet finding balance on the uneven ground. With martial arts forms like tai chi (yoga also does this), we bring the red energy of the Earth Mother into our bodies, drawing it up through the soles of our feet as we plant them firmly on the ground. It is an active event. The breath is the vehicle. When we breathe in we draw energy into our bodies and disperse it throughout our cells. The body moves with the breath, which exhales from deep within, drawing the toxins out of the shadows and dispersing them into the air. In doing this we find our power. We become charged with light energy, with our feet still firmly planted on the ground.

Each of us has the ability to be our own energy healers. Taking the time to listen to your spirit and finding the method(s) that work for you, will bring unquestionable benefits. It’s not something, as I was reminded today, you can do only on occasion, but ideally, a daily practice. What makes your soul lighter? Is it singing, writing, painting, dancing, gardening, or cooking and eating healthy foods? Or something else? Most likely there will be many answers that come to you. It’s worth the exploration.

Energy

I am remembering the energy of places. The dark corner where the walls met under the threshold of my bedroom door. A place where I had to force my eyes to look three times before I buried them under blankets, a fortress of stuffed animals around me. The pull of the wells. The first on the path between our home and our neighbors, down the slight slope of earth under the hemlocks and many steps past the circles of white flowers that hid my fairies. The second on the hill in Canterbury, beside the stone remains of a structure long abandoned. There was the skeleton of a child, I was sure, underneath that heavy gray slab of granite.

I am remembering the patches of light. The field of wildflowers and long grasses above the shop where my stepfather worked. The large rock in front of my neighbor’s home where I would sit and watch the dragonflies dance above the earth. The way the heavy brown seat of our home-made couch would pulse with the light energy of my body when my mother would brush my long brown hair into braids.

Yesterday I tried to explain the news I had received about my thyroid to a friend, and later my husband, listing each spiritually balancing activity that came to mind that I had engaged in over the past year or more. I realized, only later, that it is all a mater of energy. The only thing that really exists.

“You might fix that issue with your throat,” she had told me on the phone. Not the doctor who read the lab results, but the psychic I had spoken to six months before. Even though the energy around my throat had been spinning in a tight circle the size of an eraser, she knew it was already starting to heal.

“You have to want to heal,” I told someone else today, “so that your body and spirit understand your intention.” When you make that choice, the Universe will allow the energy to come back into balance. Inside of that desire you will find your truth and you will begin to sing it in whatever form it needs to manifest.

A Reminder to Listen and Love

Today the universe reminded me to heal. To listen and receive the signs it is sending. I spent last week in a heavy fog of judgement, the energy I was raised in. Today, while listening to Rikka Zimmerman, I am reminded that this heavy energy is not mine. That it is within my power to dissipate it for myself, and in the process, there is the hope that I will also dissipate it in others. As a parent I am reminded that to judge your children is to suffocate their individual power and truth. Their divine lights. When I was a child I knew from the time of memory, that I was incarnated in this life to write beauty, to participate in the healing of the earth and humanity and to raise a family structured on love. It’s taken me many years to begin to step into my power. Judgement is a limiting force. When someone judges you, they judge themselves. It’s a ripple effect of destruction.

A way to remove oneself from judgement is to step back and to let go of emotional attachments/reactions to a the scene or situation. To watch it as an unbiased observer and say, “this is as it should be.” It may seem strange and foreign to do this, but if you let yourself it will feel right to you. A big weight lifts. For when we judge we feel heavy, awful.

Two days ago, while my children were in karate class, I was attempting to read Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Relin, when two well-intended parents saw my copy of the book and proceeded to remark on the unfortunate findings that came out after the book was published. Suddenly the book was tainted for me, until I returned to it later in the solitude of my home. As I opened the book again and read its words, I realized it did not matter to me if the rumors of corruption were true, what mattered was the gift inside the cover. The reminder that within each of us is the capacity for living from the heart in a place of truth and love. That when one does this, the universe opens to all possibilities and miraculous things happen. Living through a place of love, in the heart, transcends fear and ignorance. It shatters terror(ism). This is the gift of the book.

My own book, which is waiting to be received by the world, I know in my heart, is also a gift for our time. A gift of the ability of the body and soul to heal from an environment permeated by fear and judgement. It reminds us that we as humans can transcend past this heavy energy that resides within our cells, carried down from our ancestors and our past lives, and multiplied and reactivated in this life. It is our choice to change this program to one of truth and love.

I acknowledge today that doubt and fear, and specifically that cord of energy that ties me to my childhood family, has held this book back from publication. There is an energy of resistance and fear surrounding the publication of my words that is not mine. I cut the cord. I give it to the universe to dissipate. The world needs my words. There are many, like me, who need to understand that we each have the capacity to heal. The universe, I accept and acknowledge with infinite gratitude, has given me this gift of truth to heal. I accept and acknowledge that it is, and will continue to ripple through our collective beings with the vibration of truth and love.

I extend immense gratitude and love to the Universe and all divine beings, in particular, my higher self, Rikka Zimmerman and Jennifer McLean and the Healing with the Master’s team for reminding me of this reality.

The greatest gift we can give ourselves and others is to see our truths, and through this allow ourselves to be the beings of love we are.

Namaste

One Down

Today I crossed off #14 on my List to the Universe. It was my most recently added item: “Alethea has a turquoise necklace like the one in her dream.” Yesterday a good friend gave me that necklace, along with a pair of matching earrings. I was deeply touched by her act of friendship.

About a month ago I saw myself during my dream state wearing a beautiful necklace draped with stones of turquoise. It was the only image of the dream (at least remembered), this magnificent necklace around my throat.

Throat, I realized later was the take away message. About a week after my dream I was sitting in class listening to my instructor talk about crystals and stones and how they can relate to and work with the chakra points on our body. When she got to the fifth chakra, the throat, she introduced us to turquoise.  As you might have guessed, a light-bulb clicked on. I had been given another way to work on that throat chakra.

Within a week of hearing about my experience, my friend Rachel made me a necklace much like the one in my dream. The stones, the color of robins’ eggs or a cloudless sky, now surround my neck, nudging me to create; to crack open the imagination and let new life take flight.

Thank you Rachel for your wonderful gift!

Rebirth

Some people believe that the year 2012 is the end of the world. When the Mayan calendar ends in December, so will our world. A belief seeped in fear. But, the foundation holds truth. Spiritual leaders throughout our world speak also of this year as an ending. The ending though, is a shedding of old beliefs that drag us down; a shattering of the structure of our individual and societal foundations, so that we may rebuild and evolve at a faster, higher vibration. It includes every being on this planet, as well as the planet itself.

This upheaval is palpable. You have only to open your door, or your newspaper, to see it. You have only to open your heart.

Over the past year, in particular, I have begun to explore the seat of my spirit, my heart chakra. When I first stepped into my heart chakra through meditation I tried to design this sacred place with my mind. I’m a writer. I wanted color, texture, characters. I thought it must be green, like the energy it harbors, verdant with the elements of the natural world. It was fun to play with…but it wasn’t real.

Today, when I stepped into my heart chakra while listening to Jennifer McClean’s 1/12/12 Prayer Circle replay, http://www.mcleanmasterworks.com, I allowed my inner sight to open to my surroundings, resisting the impulse to paint my room. I saw red. I saw flesh. I saw a womb. This, I realized, was the image that comes to me first when I visit. My sacred place of birth and rebirth. My heart as a womb. It was not grand, but it was perfect, for me.

Later today I received an email from a dear friend of mine; a fellow writer/poet; an artist. She wrote to me about waking from a dream where I appeared with her and another friend of ours. It matters only to her that I was there and our other friend, as most often, characters in dreams are facets of ourselves. In my friend’s dream she drove to my home, which appeared to her as an old, red brick building in need of some TLC on the outside. When she walked inside though, wearing her bright red sweater, my friend saw warmth and texture, plants and more colors, including red. She saw me holding an infant I had just bathed.

You may notice, as I am observing with myself, that your thoughts and life events will eerily spread and seek connection, through no conscious effort of your own this year. Two days ago I was sitting at a pub in New London, NH, eating lunch with a dear friend, another fellow writer, the other woman in my friend’s dream. We spoke about the upheavals in our lives, we spoke about seeking roots to ground us back to the earth so that we could make sense of, and work through our chaos, and we spoke of the pains of our past. Red. Root chakra issues that had blocked our other energy centers.

My lunch companion was reopening her heart chakra, and in doing so, giving balance to the more masculine energies that had ruled her adult life. This was her fortress of protection, wrapped around her heart, from feeling unloved and unwanted as a child. For weeks she had been crying, releasing the dam and allowing the female side to find space. She was learning out how to love without fear. I couldn’t help but think of the 10 of Cups card I had drawn for her  a year ago in December, as well as the World card. Through her pain, I could see her destination of becoming whole. I was witnessing a part of her rebirth.

A year ago I had also done a tarot spread for my friend who shared her dream from last night. Her destination card had been Judgement. Literally, in the Rider/Waite tarot deck,  the card of awakening to new life. Rebirth. The baby, recently bathed in her dream. Self-babtism. Only she knows how she will evolve.

Later, during my meditation with the prayer circle, after I explored my heart chakra, I took a journey through my own body. I looked for the blocks, those shadows that shun the light. The shadows are always on my right, including my brain.  I played with the possibility of light and watched what it would bring for me. A landscape opened before me, textured by gentle hills. I stood tall upon one, ready to climb the next. I was so tall, I almost doubted the vision. I almost laughed. How could I be this giant who had conquered fear? Still I let it play out, and watched as I crested the next hill and took flight. My body found its form, naked, it became light. From my back I sprouted wings.

If I Put the Pen Down

…will my heart condense to a room without a door? It’s the question I asked my higher- self before the New Year.

What happens to the writer when she does not give voice to the words within her? Her soul’s song becomes trapped inside a room of increasing darkness. The door gets harder to find with each word that’s denied a voice.

Words bring in the light. They open up our third chakras (and, of course, our fifth):

With pen you pull the sun in/dissolve shadows into life

In my effort to keep the sun shining within my solar plexus, I have decided to start this blog. I opened the door three years ago and I’m determined to not let it close.

We all come into the world with our own voice of truth, whether that voice finds expression through a poem, a painting or a pie. The point is to let it sing in whatever form it seeks.
