You stand upon the threshold of self

when the eyes outside look inward

past the outer and all its beauty and decay

Light plays tricks with shadows until

they are explored through the pathways

of your own labyrinth, discovering you

are not a cave of darkness, hiding

You are light itself. One golden strand

without an end or a beginning weaves you whole

You

may begin outside, but you will always come back

to the center, pulsing the light that is you

through the body that would hold

Close your eyes and forget this shell

See the labyrinth of light inside

breathing into open space

forming tensile strands weaving

expansion into boundless essence

until there is no you held inside darkness

only joy, threading its golden breath

through all life

Blue

Beyond

Take me through

The well of the throat

So that I might drink full

The waters of life. Replenish light

Bright. Oh, so bright. The brilliance of

A supernova exploding the universe inside

Of me. To know love again, beyond the

Depths of pain. To know the fingers

Of joy’s dance in every cell. This

Is life. Full. Complete in itself

It finds home in the green

Heart where unfettered

Filaments weave

Truth

The rift began long before the stones

held our memories

You might say it began before time

when light divided darkness. Or

did darkness divide light?

There is a rift that runs through the human brain

creating the left v. the right

logical v. illogical, perhaps

yet one cannot exist without the other

The rift is our own illusion

eyes forgetting how to see

 the lines that weave

through life, stronger than our DNA

perfect cohesion defying density

if we could only see beyond

the rift, again

I have been thinking about the bee and bear

one guarding, one circling

a hidden chamber

pointing to the vast womb

open always to receive

Meg’s eye

pulling inward

red, like the rise of the serpent

The blindfolded girl

freeing the eyes to cloak the body

in white. I  have seen you before

pulling the sheet of slumber

and now you ride

 to meet me

upon the hill of death

to  peer inside the fertile land within

She whispered

I am waiting for you

But the hills stretch for miles

where will I find you?

Her voice echoes through me

rising from the shadowlands

Inside I search the detritus

 of lifetimes forgotten

their effects left behind

my eyes look for the ever-green

of the heart to find her again

as feet stumble over instinct

broken by memory

until flesh touches stone

and her song sings truth through my cells

erasing time as the door

within opens again

It is said the heart is a forest

green with life it is fed

with the breath

of love

pulsing renewal

in each moment rebirth

is possible, yet we wear the shield

of armor with thoughts of valor

forgetting

the sword that cleaves

is in our hands shining the green

like a mirror into eyes refusing to see

the life that is love

held inside

A Fragrant Life #writephoto #liveinjoy #poetry #yogapoetry

To think life is a garden to feast upon

is a fallacy of the human mind

We are birthed opening our eyes to wonder

but too often this wonder turns to greed

The want for more pleasure feeds the hungry mind

which triggers the body into belief that it too is ravenous

for more

Dissatisfaction is the inevitable result

as the body and mind encode the belief that more

is never enough. And so we feast

until there is no more to feast upon. Too late

we realize we have stripped bare the beauty

before us. The shadow of misery

dims the light and life withers

for lack of love. A self-inflicted prophecy

of despair. They say misery loves company

but that is not true. Misery does not love

And so we must discover Truth

turning the key inward to Joy

that every-present light within

We must breathe it back to Life

as we discover the self

inside the shadow

is the one true garden

waiting to bloom

Snow is winter’s dance of illusion

each flake a swirl of separation

uniquely formed into frozen cohesion

twirling with partners before its fall

to Earth. Frozen life

in trillions of shapes

waiting to begin in another form

No two alike

yet all separated

from the same source

like us watching the dance

from our own windows

sitting upon different colored

cushions, yet breathing

the same air as this

mesmerization of life

waltzes around us

Sometimes she thought

am I just a collection of bones

linked into structure

vertebrae piled high to support

the working brain

while Earth bloomed around her

unnoticed

Until one day

she placed its green life

upon her brow

encircling her crown

and felt the light of illumination

unfold its golden petals

and she thought

I am more than this body

of bones

Renewal #writephoto #suevincent #poetry #yogapoetry

Let me show you the veil

how easy it is to step between

the illusion of clouds

yesterday on one side

tomorrow on the other

your life here

waiting for your renewal

take in the deep breath of promise

release, on the exhale, regret

anxiety and despair

you are not here to trap

space. Time moves

through you and everything

not to be captured

but to be lived
