The rift began long before the stones
held our memories
You might say it began before time
when light divided darkness. Or
did darkness divide light?
There is a rift that runs through the human brain
creating the left v. the right
logical v. illogical, perhaps
yet one cannot exist without the other
The rift is our own illusion
eyes forgetting how to see
the lines that weave
through life, stronger than our DNA
perfect cohesion defying density
if we could only see beyond
the rift, again

Well done. This shows the human side of things. How we let things come between us.
