To expound upon beauty

Uniquely yours to release

Dive out of the covers

And breathe fresh

Life yours to define

Mold ripe potential

Defining the turn of lines

Washing the edges with color

Until you forget work

In favor of creation

There is no need to rise

Above or below

But inward

The extraordinary is spiral

You, reaching to dsicover

The ecstatic dance of joy

In your own rhythm

The steps lighten

Opening the beauty of you

Again

Lest You Doubt Who You Are…#poetry #yogapoetry #esotericpoetry

I have been missing Sue, I’m sure I always will. Some days the pull to feel her presence is stronger than others. The other day, a friend of mine asked if I had reached out to her across the veil. Deliberately parting the veil is not something I do often these days. I have grown weary of the numinous and perhaps a bit distrustful. So many conspiracies and lunacies are now attached to the spiritual communities, yet there are aspects of home that cannot be denied when one steps into the space of silence. I’d like to think I heard her voice, again, in these words who are not just for me, but for anyone who doubts who they are. I share them here with visuals from the wonderful photographers on Pexels, open to individual interpretation…

You are a child gliding on a silver kite into the wind, breathless in wonder

Murmur

I am the murmur in your heart

One thousand wings flutter you

awake. I am the golden kiss opening

your lips. My breath reaching inward

searching your darkness with light. I am

the sun, but also the moon. Night dancing

inside of you breaking dawn

into filaments of truth

witnessing the glory

of you rising to meet

me

The Vast Unbroken #Span #WritePhoto #yogapoetry

You travel swiftly in this river

called life. Rushing over rocks

pulling your weight around sharp

corners, creating the froth

of exertion. Yet

your span is infinite

in stillness and

when the flow becomes

a harmony to the rhythm

within. One vast body

boundless. A life without

edges, blending all matter

soothes the sides of resistance

with the awakened pulse

it is both the bridge

and the current

The Hummingbird’s Visit #YogaPoetry #poetry

While sitting on the porch this afternoon, I had a visit from the resident hummingbird and found myself pulled into the stillness of the present to bear witness to life. While it is all too  easy to try to take over life in our hurry to live it, sometimes it is worthwhile to allow it to take over us. If even for just a few moments.

Sometimes it is enough

to watch the circle of life

and listen to the rise and fall of its notes

How the sky screams the hawk’s warning

before a spirit lifts from the body of a chipmunk

to rejoin the infinite expanse

Hidden in the green, the house cat

skulks as though it were in Africa

The dimensions of size and place lost

to the memories of cells

In the stillness of the moment

tense is erased by the rhythm

of the breath’s own steady rise and fall

inviting the heart to find

the harmony of the dance

Is the struggle real? #YogaPoetry #poetry

Beautiful things happen when you enter

the space of infinite becoming

where each aspect of the self unfurls

its petals to the stillness contained within

in soft waves of light

you are birthed

whole to all that you are

and discover essence is not confined

to a body

love drips

like water through the pores of skin

dissolving this sheath that would be armor

do not allow yourself to be held

too long in the coat

beauty is a timeless seed

requiring darkness

to germinate

a hidden code revealed only

when the self lets go of all

that it thought was real

and becomes Life

itself

You stand upon the threshold of self

when the eyes outside look inward

past the outer and all its beauty and decay

Light plays tricks with shadows until

they are explored through the pathways

of your own labyrinth, discovering you

are not a cave of darkness, hiding

You are light itself. One golden strand

without an end or a beginning weaves you whole

You

may begin outside, but you will always come back

to the center, pulsing the light that is you

through the body that would hold

Close your eyes and forget this shell

See the labyrinth of light inside

breathing into open space

forming tensile strands weaving

expansion into boundless essence

until there is no you held inside darkness

only joy, threading its golden breath

through all life

It is said the heart is a forest

green with life it is fed

with the breath

of love

pulsing renewal

in each moment rebirth

is possible, yet we wear the shield

of armor with thoughts of valor

forgetting

the sword that cleaves

is in our hands shining the green

like a mirror into eyes refusing to see

the life that is love

held inside

Let me show you the veil

how easy it is to step between

the illusion of clouds

yesterday on one side

tomorrow on the other

your life here

waiting for your renewal

take in the deep breath of promise

release, on the exhale, regret

anxiety and despair

you are not here to trap

space. Time moves

through you and everything

not to be captured

but to be lived
